09:08 PST, Tuesday, March 27

Last night, at 6:10 pm, there was a M2.9 quake in the Coso Range, 18 miles east of Coso Junction. There are no "felt" reports.


08:31 PST, Monday, March 26

There were two decent-sized quakes on Saturday. The first was a M3.0 Hector aftershock, at 1:06 am, located 33 miles south-southwest of Baker. It wasn't felt, as far as we know.

At 4:41 pm on Saturday, there was a M3.3 that was widely felt in the Inland Empire. The epicenter was 5 miles south of Rancho Cucamonga.

07:44 PST, Thursday, March 22

Last night, at 11:10 pm, there was another quake in the Coso Junction area, this time on the eastern side of Owens Valley, 15 miles east of Coso Junction. The magnitude was M2.9. This location is in the Coso Ranges, which is a common source of small quakes and swarms.


14:38 PST, Wednesday, March 21

A small quake in the Big Bear area was felt at 11:39 am this morning. The epicenter was 4 miles northwest of Big Bear Lake, and the magnitude was M2.6. The site of the "felt report" was Big Bear City.


15:45 PST, Tuesday, March 20

There was another small one at 5:25 am today, a M2.7 located 11 miles north of Ridgecrest. It was not reported as felt.


08:55 PST, Tuesday, March 20

Yesterday evening at 5:42 pm, there was another small quake 19 miles south-southwest of Coso Junction. The magnitude was M2.8. We have received no inquiries about it.


08:52 PST, Monday, March 19

At 2:04 pm Saturday afternoon, there was a M3.2 quake in the eastern Sierra, 20 miles south-southwest of Coso Junction. This quake may have been felt in Onyx.


16:38 PST, Thursday, March 15

08:49 PST, Thursday, March 15

At 11:52 pm last night, a very tiny (M1.7) quake was felt in Santa Monica. The epicenter was 2 miles south-southwest of Santa Monica.


17:25 PST, Tuesday, March 13

At 5:19 pm today, there was a M3.0 Hector Mines aftershock. The epicenter was located 35 miles north of Joshua Tree. This is a sparsely populated area, so it probably will not be reported "felt".


08:13 PST, Monday, March 12

There was a M3.1 quake early Sunday morning (at 4:10 am), located at Panamint Springs, 25 miles southwest of Stovepipe Wells. It was not reported as felt by anyone.


17:27 PST, Thursday, March 08

13:12 PST, Monday, March 05

At 11:00 am today, there was a M3.1 quake, located at the northern end of Clark Valley, 9 miles north-northeast of Borrego Springs. That puts it within the San Jacinto fault zone. At the moment, we have only one "felt" report, from La Quinta.


23:26 PST, Saturday, March 03

At 11:16 pm this evening, there was a M3.2 quake 2 miles ESE of Yucaipa. It was felt.


10:15 PST, Friday, March 02

There was a small quake (M3.2) this morning 8 miles north-northwest of Devore, near the I15 freeway north of Cajon Pass. The time was 9:38 am. The quake was reported felt in the Apple Valley area.
